Armored Duct Aerial Cable GYXTW

Underground Fiber Cable

Armored Duct Aerial Cable GYXTW

The GYXTW is a light-armored center-tube fiber optic cable that serves as an economical multi-purpose solution for duct, aerial, and light direct-burial applications. Its corrugated steel tape armor provides reliable mechanical protection in a compact, lightweight form factor, making it ideal for metro access networks and enterprise campus backbones. The center-tube design simplifies handling and splicing compared to stranded loose tube alternatives.

The Light Armored Fiber Optic Cable GYXTW is a type of outdoor fiber optic cable designed for various applications, offering protection through a light armored design. The GYXTW cable features a light armored design, which means it is equipped with a layer of steel tape or wire armor. This armor provides enhanced mechanical protection against crushing, impacts, and rodent damage, making the cable suitable for challenging outdoor conditions. The fibers, 250μm, are positioned in a loose tube made of a high modulus plastic. The tubes are filled with a water-resistant filling compound. The tube is wrapped with a layer of PSP longitudinally. Between the PSP and the loose tube water-blocking material is applied to keep the cable compact and watertight. Two parallel steel wires are placed at the two sides of the steel tape. The cable is completed with a polyethylene (PE) sheath.Common light armored cable cores include 2 core, 4 core, 6 core, 8 core, 12 core, etc. These cores can meet general low-capacity transmission needs. For larger capacity transmission requirements, you can choose 24 core, 48 core or higher specifications.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between GYXTW and GYTS?

GYXTW is a light-armored center-tube cable with lower fiber count (2–24), designed for economical metro access and enterprise applications. GYTS is a heavier stranded loose tube cable supporting up to 288 fibers with more robust water protection for long-haul and backbone applications.

2. Can GYXTW be directly buried?

GYXTW is suitable for light direct burial in low-risk areas but is not designed for heavy-duty direct burial. For demanding direct burial applications (rocky soil, rodent-prone areas, high-traffic locations), we recommend GYTA53 with double armor.
